Our reputation is down to the people at our sites in Burnley and Derby. We value their technological expertise and engineering experience that enable us to deliver excellence time and time again.
To us, our people are members, rather than employees. Why? Because we encourage a strong sense of ownership, a family atmosphere and an inclusive and welcoming business. At FMUK you’ll find a workplace that supports you with state-of-the-art technology, stretches your skills and allows you to grow. In a business that focuses on safety, quality and protecting the environment.
What we do
We’re a major supplier to the automotive industry, specialising in the manufacture and welded assembly of emissions control and large body in white components, using high tensile steel.
We’ve built our reputation on engineering excellence and world-class efficiency that enable us to deliver high quality, cost-effective automotive parts to our clients. And we’re proud to be recognised as a preferred supplier to some of the world’s biggest auto brands.
That’s why we encourage innovative thinking, recognise every individual contribution and give our members all the support they need to achieve their full potential. Because our members are at the heart of our excellence.
Part of a global success story
Founded in 1945 by a group of engineers from other Japanese companies, Futaba originally manufactured fish netting machines and furniture. In 1948 it started to produce car parts and today the global business specialises in manufacturing a range of products, from robotic technology to automotive pressing and assembly parts.
Join FMUK and you’ll be joining an organisation established in the UK for more than 20 years. We’re part of Futaba Industrial Co Ltd, a global design and manufacturing group for the automotive industry. Based in Okazaki, Japan, Futaba has 29 facilities and 10,000 members around the world.
More about FutabaOur mission, purpose and values
We make everything better. It reflects our focus on continuous improvement, so we can deliver excellence for our clients.
We produce important parts for some of the UK’s best loved cars, helping to ensure that they are safe and reliable for millions of customers. That’s our company purpose. But embedded into this purpose is a commitment to apply the same levels of care to our members. Because we recognise that we can only achieve our purpose by creating an environment that allows our members to grow, develop and thrive.
This is why we’ve created a set of values that guide how the business, and everyone, can help us move towards our company vision.
Our customers are at the heart of all we do
We know our customers’ reputations rest with us. So, we do everything in our power to make sure we deliver on our promises to them. We never take their business for granted. Their problems are our problems. Their successes are our successes.
We care
We’re all aware of our responsibilities to our customers, our colleagues, our communities and our environment. We act with care, respect and consideration and aren’t afraid to call out bad practice and behaviour when we see it. We always look to do the right thing.
We have a can-do attitude
We pull together as one. We offer our help and support to our colleagues to make sure we get the job done. We are stronger and better when we work together.
We challenge convention
Every single one of us looks for better ways of working because we know improvements help us all, no matter how small.
